What is Thermal Imaging?

The use of thermal imaging for inspecting buildings is a powerful tool for improving energy efficiency and finding hidden problems. Thermal Imaging or "thermography" is the science of taking thermal photographs with an infrared camera, allowing us to see wavelengths of energy that the human eye cannot see. Using thermography we can find problems that are otherwise hidden, such as water leaks, condensation, electrical and other structural problems.  Thermography is also excellent in in locating heat loss and improving weatherization and energy efficiency.  Discovery Home Inspection offers thermography as a supplemental service in home inspections, as well as a stand alone service for residential and commercial buildings.
